Start a Folk School in Your Community
Our communities are full of lived experience, creativity, and welcoming homes of all shapes and sizes. All it takes to begin is a pot of tea and a few people gathered around your kitchen table — and you can host your first folk school class. We’re here to help you get started.
As the LifeSchoolHouse model grows, we’re receiving more requests for support from people starting up folk schools around the world. To help, we’ve created a book — a collection of stories from LifeSchoolHouse hosts, participants, facilitators, and volunteers. These stories weave together into a practical, heartfelt guide to help you launch your own folk school in your community.
We offer these resources freely to those ready to begin hosting with LifeSchoolHouse. If you feel a spark of readiness in your community, please reach out at connect@lifeschoolhouse.com to request access. We’ll send you the password to access the full electronic copy of our resources.
If you’re able to support our work with a financial contribution, we suggest a donation of $15, which can be sent via e-transfer when you request password access.
Prefer a printed copy? You can sign up here to receive a full-color, printed version of the book.
If you’re still exploring and want to learn more, we invite you to watch our introductory webinar or reach out to Connect@lifeschoolhouse.com to connect and learn more about this growing movement.
